Dr. Lailatul Fitriyah (she/her) currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Interreligious Education at Claremont School of Theology in Los Angeles, US, as well as a Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto – Scarborough in Canada.

 

She currently has two ongoing research projects. The first one deals with the formation of anti-patriarchal Muslim and Christian theologies from the lives of Indonesian Migrant Domestic Workers who work and live in Singapore. The second one focuses on the roles of Islamic teachings in the struggles of Indonesian indigenous communities against environmental destruction. Her area of expertise includes Muslim and Christian feminist theologies, Anthropological Theologies, Islam and Christianity in Southeast Asia, Religions, Gender, and Decoloniality, and Interreligious Peacebuilding.

 

She is the founder of Indonesian Decolonial Hangout, a monthly forum in Bahasa Indonesia in which everyday Indonesians talk about systemic violence that they experience through decolonial lenses.
